The Problem
Global CO2 emissions are dangerously high, pushing us beyond safe climate thresholds. Even with renewables and energy efficiency, hard-to-abate sectors and legacy emissions make it impossible to reach net-zero without large-scale carbon removal.
The Solution
Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) — a proven, permanent method of removing CO2 emissions from the atmosphere and safely storing it deep underground. ACV uses world-class geology in South Australia to deliver low-cost, high-volume CO2 storage, including innovative storage in coal seams and sandstone.

Our Goal
To become the leading pure-play carbon storage company in Australia and globally — enabling industries to decarbonise, supporting emerging technologies like Direct Air Capture, and securing long-term climate stability through safe, scalable carbon storage.

The need for CCS
CO2 capture and storage (CCS) is essential in addressing the urgent challenge of reducing global emissions, given that combustion of fossil fuels for energy and transport is a major contributing source of CO2 in the atmosphere. Despite the growth of renewable energy, the world remains heavily reliant on coal, oil, and natural gas to power homes, industries, and economies. CCS provides a practical and immediate way to significantly lower emissions from these sectors by capturing CO2 at the source—such as power plants and industrial facilities—and storing it safely underground. This technology plays a critical role in the transition to net zero, especially for hard-to-decarbonise industries. Without CCS, achieving the deep emission cuts required to meet global climate targets will be far more difficult, costly, and time-consuming.
